Walking house will be constructed in Denmark
17 December 2007The noncommercial art group of Denmark has created “walking house” – the project of a building, in which it will be possible to live “a vagrant life”. The house will “go” on the six mechanical legs.
Unique “walking house”, which weighs one ton, represents one-room apartment in height of 2,3 meters, width 2,4 meters and length of 8 meters. Though the floor space of the house is very insignificant, founders approve, that four people can live in the house.
The house will move “legs” by means of 12 motors, which will allow it to step through obstacles. As inventors approve, the house can move anywhere: both in the city and village with a speed of up to 5 kilometers per hour.
Gypsies have inspired Danes for such invention. Employees of British art center Wysing have asked the group to help to them to think up something creative for the gipsy, wandering Cambridge suburbs.
