First-ever ecologically pure city will be constructed in the United Arab Emirates
11 February 2008As it has become known, within the nearest eight years the first-ever ecologically pure city of the future, for which construction $22 billion is being spent, will be constructed in suburbs of Abu-Dhabi.
The central establishment of the city, which has received the name “Masdar”, will be same scientifically-institute of technology, which will be engaged in sphere of renewed energy sources researches.
Only experts, engaged in this sphere, will live in Masdar, which will occupy the area in 700 hectares near to the international airport of Abu-Dhabi. Their number should make from 50 thousand up to 70 thousand people.
In city there will be no petrol cars and emissions of carbonic gas. Its power needs will be provided only due to wind and solar energy. Thus consumption of energy and water is planned to reduce accordingly in four and 2,5 times in comparison with charges in usual city of the same scale.
