The highest building of China will be constructed till 2010

Shanghai prepares for construction of the highest building in China. The new tower will appear in financial area Lujiazui.
Construction of skyscraper Shanghai Center in height of 580 meters should start this year, and finish - in 2010. The commission on city construction and reform has already approved the project of the building.
Chicago architectural bureau Skidmore, Owing and Merrill became the designer of the 118-storeyed tower (20,3 thousand square meters). The building will have offices, hotel rooms, shopping centers and premises for rest.
Shanghai Center should overtake a building of “Shanghai World Financial Center” (SWFC) in height of 491,3 meters, which construction will come to the end in this spring, and Jinmao Tower in height of 420,5 meters, that will allow it to become the highest skyscraper of China.
