12 March 2008

According to the results of 2007, cost of rent of offices in ten leading centers of the world has increased on the average for 40 %. The substantial growth of office rates is fixed in Oslo, where rates of rent have reached 727 euros for square meter. Such information has been represented in the review of the company “Cushman and Wakefield”, which has analyzed more than 200 cities of the world on the parameter of office expenses.
The high prices for oil and low interest rates were a basis of economic “boom” of last years in Norway - the oil exporting country. It was reflected in increase of rent rates of office premises in the center of Oslo as demand here exceeds the offer.
In first ten the biggest growth is also noted in Singapore, which has risen on ten positions up to 7-th place (954 euros for square meter). Here rent rates have grown on 78 % in local currency, and, thus, parameters of Singapore, India and Vietnam have put Asian-Pacific region on the 1st place on parameters of rent rates growth (a level of growth has made 23 % within 2007).
Experts mark, what exactly in 2007 the biggest growth of cost of office rent in many largest cities of the world from the moment of a new cycle of development of the market of the real estate in 2001has occurred. The greatest demand proceeds from the financial companies. Behind this growth there is a shortage of high-quality premises as developers continue to operate cautiously.
