The number of free houses in the USA has reached a record level
3 May 2008The number of free houses in the USA has grown up to a record level in the first quarter of 2008 as to proprietors of houses all becomes more difficult to find buyers.
According to the US Census Bureau, the quantity of empty houses has grown up to 2,9 % from January till March, increasing the third quarter successively.
Last quarter the last year the share of empty houses made 2,8 %, for the first time this level has been reached year earlier. Census Bureau representatives name last increase “statistically insignificant”.
However, the total number of free houses has reached 18,6 million and it has become the record level.
Analysts consider that it is not necessary to wait for improvements in the market prior to the beginning of 2009, when surplus of not sold houses will be stabilized.
