The biggest in the Europe Park will be opened in June
24 May 2008National park Vatnajokull, which opening is planned on June, will take the territory of more than 3 million acres and will occupy 13 % of territory of Iceland.
The park will unite all the variety of Icelandic nature: it will consist of high-mountainous plateaus, volcanoes, streams, gorges, sandy plains, the rivers, lakes. The most interesting sights will be represented with mighty falls Detifoss, the most extensive European glacier Vatnajokull and seven volcanoes.
In territory of park hotel centers, tourist bases are being constructed, foot routes are being arranged.
The status of national park will help to save Vatnajokull from pollution and building. It is supposed, that more than 40 thousand tourists will annually visit the park.
